I survived my crazy-busy week! Thankfully it's officially over for me, and my weekend begins tonight! It's a four-day weekend too because our kids are out of school tomorrow and Monday! I am telling you, I think need 4 days to recover from all of the busy-ness of this week.
Well, we did NOT get that snow day everyone was oh-so-sure about yesterday. Apparently the storm shifted west and instead of 4-8 inches, we got maybe 1 or 2 inches. We did have a two-hour delay this morning, which was wonderful because it afforded me the time to make these boxes for the kids' teachers! I guess I sorta bought into everyone's excitment that today would be a snow day and I just kept procrastinating. Believe me, I was working fast and furiously this morning to get them finished, but didn't they turn out cute?? We filled them with Dove chocolates because I understand they're pretty tasty!
*These boxes are super-simple to make, and if you want the instructions, click here.
I've been running since I dropped the kids off at school this morning, so when John called and asked if he could take us out for dinner tonight, I just said "yes, I'd love that, and thanks for being sensitive to my complete exhaustion". He should be home in a little while and we're going to head to our favorite mexican place. I hope to come home afterwards (pleasantly full) and put on my warm, comfy pjs, and watch LOST with my favorite Valentine.
I also plan on staying home all day tomorrow. I may even stay in my pajamas all day too.
Happy weekend to you too!

We're going to have pizza tonight and veg in front of Survivor. I feel like a Survivor after this week, too. HIstory Boy had oral surgery yesterday, but thankfully, he's doing great. Still...a momma worries.
I hope dinner is fun for you. xxxooogretchen
these are FABULOUS! I totally need an excuse to make them- the next chance I have, I will for sure!
happy v day, my friend!
I'm so glad you're alive! And I think staying in your pj's all day would be heavenly!
Those boxes are CUTE! I will totally be making them...
Happy Valentines Day!
These boxes are great. I'll have to make some soon.
Hope you enjoyed your Valentine evening....sounds like a good plan. My hubby and I are sitting on the couch in a quiet house (kids in bed).
Cute boxes! And Happy Valentine's Day, Mer! ;o)
Love and hugs,
Diane
Mer,
Those turned out so cute. I wish you hadn't posted them again, though, because now I really want to add that project to my list! =)
Hope you enjoyed your fiesta last night.
Those boxes are so cute! I don't know of a time when my hubby has suggested we eat out and I said no. Brownie points to your husband for recognizing your exhaustion!
Hi, Meredith~
I don't know you, but you left a comment on my blog earlier today. Thank you so much for your words. I also noticed some things we have in common (my husband & I used to live in CO; I'm from AR; love Lost; and love Peace Like a River--it's one of my top 5 books). I'm glad our paths crossed, if only just for a moment!
Those boxes are adorable! I'm going to try to make one tonight. I hope I can figure this out!!! Wish me luck!
mer,
Your comment made me laugh! When I woke up this morning I thought of you, and dcrmom of Musings of a Housewife, and my friend meh in Michigan, because on Monday I "bragged" to all three of you about my warm weather.
When it started snowing here, I thought, "this is totally my fault for talking smack!"
;)
Did you get to stay in your Pj's today? I hope so! Have a great weekend!

Oh these are adorable! What a great surprise to the teachers!!
They're adorable, Mer. I'll bet the kids' teachers were so pleased with them, especially since unlike me, most people actually LIKE chocolate. LOL
I hope you did. I hope you stayed in your pj's all day long.
sorry you didn't get that snow day, but those boxes are precious! :)
I love the boxes! I bookmarked the tutorial so I can make them for end of the year gifts! Thanks for sharing.
