What's in Your Crockpot?

My friend, Carrie is hosting a recipe idea exchange on her blog. Earlier in the week she asked for recipe idea requests, which she posted today so that readers can respond. I requested some good crock-pot recipes. Anyone have any great ones they'd like to pass my way?

My friend, Allison, made Crock-Pot Lasagna for us last week, and it was so yummy that it's on my menu plan for next week.

If you have a simple, easy, and delicious crock-pot recipe you'd like to share, please do!

And check out Carrie's blog for some other great recipe requests and ideas!

Mmmmm... crockpot lasagna! Yum! I'll buzz over there in a bit!

Yes, I did see Joanne's invite and commented on that post. I'm hoping I can make it! We are having car issues right now, but I hope they are resolved by then! I told her I would let her know! I would love to meet you all!

I just made something new last night. don't know if it's healthy (okay, I know it's not) but it was pretty good, and a nice change:
throw on in yer crockpot:
1 cup of uncooked rice (put this on the bottom)
chicken
1 can of drained artichoke hearts
lemon pepper
1 can of cream of chicken & mushroom soup
1 can of chicken broth

cook on low 6 to whatever hours
in the last 30 minutes, throw on top 1 cup of shredded cheese (i used CoJack) and let it melt all over the yummy goodness.

let me know if you try it... :)

Oh, HG, sounds heavenly!!!!

Also, crockpot lasagna is something I'll have to try.

I get stuck making the same things: pot roast, beef/chicken stew and green chili chicken soup. I'll have to head over to Carrie's for some inspiration.

Happy Weekend!

That's so funny, because I just put a roast in my crock pot before I opened your blog!

Have a great weekend!

I just posted a crockpot recipe on my recipe blog. Check out the link above. It's not a "throw in crockpot and leave' recipe, but its still very easy and we really enjoy it.

I like the crockpot lasagne, too!

I cook a whole chicken in the Crock Pot.
I just put some seasonings on it. I use different things at different times.

Here are some good seasonings to choose from:
1. Garlic Salt, Celery Salt and an onion in the cavity.
2. Rosemary & Thyme
3. Several cloves of Garlic and 1/2 onion in the cavity, along with lemon juice, sprinkled inside and outside.

Always salt the bird inside and out before placing in to cook. Add 1/2 cup- 1 cup water, and cook several hours on low or 1/2 the time on high.

It falls off the bone and is so moist and delicious

Okay, I'm NO cook, but I can make these and they are delicious. And they're a breeze to make!

Honey Ribs and Rice
Ingredients:
* 2 pounds extra-lean back ribs
* 1 can (10 1/2 ounces) condensed beef stock
* 1/2 cup water
* 2 tablespoons maple syrup
* 2 tablespoons honey
* 3 tablespoons soy sauce
* 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce
* 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
* 1-2 cups quick cooking rice

If ribs are fat, place on broiler rack and broil for 15 to 20 minutes; drain well. Otherwise, wash ribs and pat dry. Cut ribs into single servings. Combine remaining ingredients except rice in Crock-Pot; stir to mix. Add ribs. Cover and cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours or on High for 4 to 5 hours. Serve with rice.

Seriously delicious.

Mer,

Deea left the following idea for you on my blog:

My hubby did nothing but crockpot when he was single. Here is his favorite:
Stew Meat and Noodles
2# chunked meat (I say that because I sometimes substitute chicken breasts or Ham if we have them.)
Spices (he used garlic powder and cayenne, salt & pepper)
1 can crm soup (whatever kind you like)
1/2 that can of water
Dump it all in, cook all day on low. When about ready to eat boil some wide egg noodles til soft, drain and serve your "meat and gravy" over the top of them. I have also used rice as it is quicker in the rice cooker. It's really delicious even though it is simple.

We have two crock pot dinners we love, but we need more so thanks for the ideas everyone.

Beef Stroganoff:

1 lb stew meat
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
let that cook all day and then add 1 cup of sour cream 30 minutes before eating. Serve over egg noodles. So easy and actually very good.

Crock Pot Pork (am I creative at naming things or what!)

1 can onion soup
2-3 lbs pork loin
Carrots and potatoes cut into big chunks.

salt and pepper the pork before you put it in the pot. Throw everything else in and let it go for the day. Pete's aunt starts this Saturday night and it is ready after church on Sunday. His uncle is a pastor so thier Sunday mornings are busy and they frequently have a crowd to feed - this does the trick.
