On a scale of 1-10, how much do you love the sun?
I'd say I'm a 10. I'm a sun-lover. I love being outside in the sunshine and I love getting/having a tan.
It's only been in the last couple of years that I've started using sunscreen on my face. I KNOW! And yet I wonder why I have so many wrinkles!
I prefer to get my tan the natural way, but sometimes I help it along a little with some sunless tanner.
Am I alone? Do you love the sun too??

I am a 4.
I don't like to be hot, and I don't tan. You and I totally need to trade climates!
I love the sun a resounding 10! Unfortunately for me with my fair Irish skin, it loves me a 1. I have to be super careful about sunburn.
Yes, a 10 for me. I have to really work at getting a tan, so I've given up trying. But I do love being outside in the sunshine.
Brenda :)
I am an off the charts 10 when it comes to the sun. I was raised in Texas and Southern Cali-- both sun soaked places. Now I live in the second cloudiest place and it is so hard. I pray everyday that the Lord takes me back to the sun.
But it's shining today, so I can't complain!
Mer,
I would say an 8 or 9. I wear moisturizer w/ sunscreen daily, and wear 30 if I'm outside for a long time (except, apparently, when attending a marathon at 7000 feet--ha!)
I had a major horror story with sunless tanner in HS--I had to get a new dress (long sleeve!!) for the Valentine's banquet because I dyed my arms orange. Sigh.
I love the sun! So I'm a 10!
However, I wear, at least, 45 spf sunscreen on my arms and legs when I know I am going to be in the sun for prolonged periods. And I where 15 spf on face everyday. And I still tan "like a brown bunny" as my mom used to say.
Living in AZ is awesome: plenty of sunshine, 362 days a year (on average!), but we have to protect our skin!
Love it--10--love the buzz from being outside all day!
But humidity gets a big fat 0.
I have to say a 5. I love being outside but I hate being hot! I wear 30 spf on my face and I don't like to tan. I go to a tanning bed at the beginning of summer b/c it will give me a base tan and keep me from burning later. I only go about 5/6 times and I wear a 45 spf all summer.
I also don't like sunless tanners b/c I'm not consistent.

I'm probably a 9 or 10! Love that sun! It's pretty intense here though, have you noticed?
I'm really pretty good at using sunscreen though. A dad with skin cancer will do that to you.
I don't use sunless tanner because the smell nauseates me! Being pregnant right now, I have a keen sense of it being anywhere near me and I don't love that. I do like what it does, if only it didn't stink!
(Um, not saying you stink, Mer!)
I'm a 10 for the sun!
I use sunscreen and just tell myself, "when I'm old, I'll be glad I did" but secretly I love a good REAL tan...makes me feel zippier.
I would say an 8. But it's mostly because it is so darn humid here that as soon as you step outside you are dripping wet! Yuck
But I do like to be out, especially in the mornings. I love to work in the flower beds and pick weeds (strange but true) and I love to watch the birds and squirrels play. LOL
I'm a 10.
There's a reason I lived in San Diego for 8 years.
I'm also HORRIBLE about using sunscreen. As in, I rarely do. I'm even bad about putting it on my kids, since they have their father's olive skin and they never burn. Never.
I think my sun-lovin', sunscreen-toleratin' ways stem partially from growing up in the Midwest, where sunshine is not guaranteed every day. I'm so giddy when I get to be outside in the sun (and, maybe, possibly get a tan), I can't bear the thought of anything standing between me and that vitamin D. Because what if it rains for the rest of the month? And then it's winter again? I can't stand it.
I don't just love the sun. I need the sun. After 23 years of CO's 300+ days of sun, I'm a hurting unit in the NW during November-late April. I don't love being hot, but having that sunshine to greet me is so welcome. Not having it on a daily basis is truly the only disadvantage of living in Seattle; but it's a big one.
I'm about to go to the dermatologist to see if I can undo some of the being.raised.in.CO.sun.damage on my face. I look like the new super hero, Blotchy-Face-Woman whenever the sun comes out and my face gets the least bit of pigment. Oh, i'm wearin' that sunscreen now, Baby.

So, (blushes) in answer to your question, I'm an 8. ;)
I am definitely a 10 when it comes to loving the sun and I love to tan. Not too crazy about the humidity, though, and we have alot of that here!
I have to be really careful about wearing sunscreen, though since I've had some pre-cancer issues. I use self tanner, too.
I used to think skin cancer seemed like something not many people had & something kind of benign. But I've heard about two women lately (both in their 20's) who have died from it. So now I'm a little more scared!!
I'm a 6.5
Love me some rain...for days!
totally a ten as well! Bring on the sunburn! I love light!
I haven't been able to check blogs this weekend - just checkin' in all the posts I've missed!
LOVE the sun. I'm actually sitting here in my suit, about to go back outside. My aunt has a pool like practically everyone else in Phoenix. Fun, fun, fun.
I can not believe time goes by so fast - I am over 10 days behind on your blog. But I love the question of the week so I wanted to play along.
I use to be a 10+! I loved to tan and used Tropicana with no sunscreen (at times even veggie oil) and put sun in or lemon juice on my hair. I would spend my Texas summers in jr high and high school from 10 to 2 at the pool or lying out worshiping the sun.
Now I am more like an 7. The Texas heat gets to me - it is just so hot. But even though I no longer use suntan oil - I still love to see that natural tan that starts to show up in the spring. I am trying to be good and use sunscreen if I am going to be in the sun all day. But I am still warped tan = health - fair skin = unhealthy. Sad. :o)
