Remember how I was telling you that last week was slow and lazy and our calendar was completely clear? Well, I've been welcomed back into reality.
The girls are going to Vacation Bible School this week. The publishing company that John works for is doing a field test for next year's curriculum, and employee's children get to be a part of this "test" VBS. They're loving it! Abbey was singing one of the songs to me this evening after her bath, and showing me the hand motions. Very cute. I have so many memories of VBS and am thankful the girls get to be a part of this one.
Will chose not to participate in VBS this year, so he's been hangin' out with me in the mornings. This morning, we played LIFE (electronic version--so fun!), and tomorrow we have some errands to run before we pick up the girls. I've enjoyed having the one-on-one time with him. He's eleven, and he doesn't always think his mom is so cool, but this week he's opened up to me a little and we've shared a few laughs over chips and a Dr. Pepper. I'm not used to having him with me during the day, but I love it.
The VBS schedule this week has me back to living in the 3-hour increments I became so familiar with during the school year. In addition to running the taxi, I keep finding rooms to clean and stuff to purge. It's a sickness, really. Once I get started I cannot stop, and this week I realized that my basement needed some attention. I dropped 2 huge bags of stuff off at Goodwill this afternoon, and after I get the girls from VBS tomorrow, I have a few more bags of stuff to drop off. It feels so good to get all that stuff out of here.
Have I mentioned that I *heart* ebay? Back in December, I sold a few things and made over $200. Last week, after purging one of my closets, I decided to list a few things on ebay. I sold 4 items and made $65. Woohoo! I must say that I'm not a fan of the post office, and selling things on ebay means you have to actually mail them, but our post office now has an automated station, and it's so easy to use. It's almost painless, really. I have one last postal trip to make tomorrow, and I'm already wondering if I have anything else I can sell! Does anyone else love ebay?
The rest of my week is filled with playdates and birthday parties and driving (lots of driving) and a few fun things here and there! I'm definitely looking forward to next week when no one has to be anywhere early and we can all sleep in again.

Hi Meredith,
I love Ebay. I've been selling for 4 years. Done good on some things and not so good on others. I haven't been able to do it for the last couple of months as my housecleaning business has taken off and I'm extremely busy. But I do have a cupboard of Ebay wannabe's! I also buy nearly all of my husbands clothes on Ebay. Great bargains to be had, if you know when to stop bidding!
Sounds like your summer is stacking up to be a busy one.
God bless,
Brenda
What a difference a week makes. I was looking so forward to having time off from school and schedules, but so far nothing has slowed down. I seriously have to reevalute our committments.
I've never sold anything on Ebay, but always wanted to. I'm cleaning closets, etc. getting ready to put our house on the market. I would much rather get some money for all this junk than just give it all away or throw it out.
Oh, I have fun memories of VBS (at Village Seven, no less) from growing up!
LOVE ebay. I need to sell a few things myself! And, also, great job on the purging! I need to get back to it...
Mer, You mentioned lots of driving... Wondering what the gas prices are out your way. Some ex OBU faculty who have relocated to Palm Beach, FL are quoting $11.00 per gallon.
I have never sold anything on eBay, but I once had a love affair with Craigslist! my husband told me to stop before I sold everything right out from under us.....
I do still love Craigslist, but haven't used it much lately.
Good for you for being so productive though. And lucky you for being done with school already. We go until the 18th of June. I am looking forward to school beingou though.
I sell quite a bit on ebay and love doing it. I have a pile I need to list right now, I just need the motivation. Too many other things to do, I guess.
Loved VBS as a kid! Love ebay as a grown up but haven't sold anything on it
Trying desperately to justify the expense of flying you out for a week of organizing and purging my house! You rock, kiddo. Ebay, Good will...
We're still in the madness of the end of school year activities, so I may have a bit of cleaning and organizing to come. But right now, it's extra rehearsals, extra everything--and extra driving.
I try to tell myself that I don't spend $8-20/day for the privilege of driving the taxi. I try to fill up at Costco as often as possible, but I feel like I'm in the food lines of Russia when I do that--better not have to go anywhere if you're filling up there! Ah, well...at least there IS a Costco. :)
Happy Wednesday to you, my friend.

I have fond memories of VBS as a child, too. I'm glad your girls are enjoying it and you are enjoying your time with Will!
Like eBay. Love Craig's List. No shipping, people come to my house to get their goods and I get cash. (No fees lost to eBay or Paypal.) It's awesome.
Memories of VBS? I only remember one year, and it was the year "Truckin'" was the theme. (Must have been during the Smokey and the Bandit phase of the 70s.) Our theme song included the phrase, "And that's a big 10-4!"
I have never sold anything on e-bay, but I've bought things from there. I will have to give it a try soon since I plan on doing some major cleaning out soon!
I'm glad you and Will get to hang out together this week. That is always fun when you get to be with one at a time!
Hey, Mer. We've only listed a few things on Ebay. Our biggest success has been books on half.com--did you ever end up doing that?
I need to check out the ebay biz...
Curious about Craig's list. Blocked on computer at work. Wikipedia says it markets events and erotic services... I work in a library that is trying to sell a slew of books.
I am feeling the exact. same. way.
But the kids are having a blast, so that's good!
I like ebay too. I haven't ever sold things there, but I have got some great deals there while shopping for certain items!
How special that you had time with Will alone.
I have never sold anything on Ebay but I have bought lots of stuff. You also have mentioned Craigs List - I have got to check that out.
