Pizza and a movie is our favorite way to spend Friday evenings.
Tonight I made homemade pizza...yummmm....
...but we're also big fans of Papa Murphy's take and bake.
John has a work thing tonight so it's just me and the kids. One of these movies is for them...the other for me. Sweet Home Alabama is one of my very favorites!
I thought the kids would be excited about Hannah Montana, but right now they're glued to a Brady Bunch dvd from Blockbuster.com They're watching the episode where Alice goes away for a week and cousin Emma takes over and runs Brady boot camp. So funny! I can quote so many lines from every.single.episode.
I was taking these pictures earlier and remembered that I've blogged about our Friday night tradition here and here. We just can't seem to get enough of a good thing, I guess! Happy weekend!
**So, we ended up watching Hannah Montana after the Brady Bunch, and now we're having a big ole dance fest in the den. F-U-N!
Oooohhhh...can I come? Sweet Home Alabama is one of my favorites, too! LOVE IT!! And that pizza...yum.
ReplyDeleteI was just telling my husband the other day that I think our girls would enjoy The Brady Bunch and was going to look for it.
ReplyDeleteFun!
Enjoy.
Friday night is my favorite time of the week, too! It means that the entire weekend is stretching out in front of us, and it's our night to kick back and relax.
ReplyDeleteThat pizza looks so good, Meredith. Great Friday night tradition.
I will be right over and we can laugh and cry over Sweet Home Alabama together!! It's one of the few movies I've seen in a theater in the past 5 years. We went here in RI and I laughed and laughed. Mostly by myself as the... um.. Yankees around me didn't seem to understand all the humor. Or maybe it's because living a decade among Yankees gives me a whole new perspective on Southern culture. Anyway. My favorite line? "Honey, just cuz I talk slow don't mean I'm stupid."
ReplyDeleteWe love that BB episode!
ReplyDeleteAnd your pizza looks yummy...
Joanne
Oh, olive pizza so very much.
ReplyDeleteWe usually do Little Caesars on Friday nights ($5.55/pizza), but did it last night, so tonight was Lean Cuisine. fancy.
Enjoy SHA.
We just got done playing 2 hands of Flux and one loooong game of Mill Creek-opoly.
SO.MUCH.FUN!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat is about Friday nights???!! I think they're just plain wonderful. Sounds like you guys were having an awesome time!! And the pizza looks-yum-o!
Sweet Home Alabama is one of my top 3 movies of all time! A couple of my fave lines are:
"what's this in the fridge--chick food??"
"come on in shuga..you're lettin' all the bought air out"
SOOO funny!
I feel so empty handed tonight without Twilight!!! It's crazy!
FUN, FUN, FUN!!! Friday nights and Sun evenings are my very favorite days of the week too! I love, love, love Sweet Home Alabama -another one of my faves. Her hometown reminds me SO MUCH of my hometown. It just brings a smile to my face. In fact if my daughter didn't have her last soccer game today and her soccer party I might would bring it out to watch! Glad y'all had a fun Friday night.
ReplyDeletegreat tradition....great enough to warrant more than one blog post!
ReplyDeleteYUM!!! And, I didn't comment on the post below but I CAN'T STAND word verification. I was just commenting (in person, lol) to Dolly about it.
ReplyDeleteI adore Friday nights! Your homemade pizza looks delish. I keep reading about everyone raving about Papy Murphy. I sure wish we had one of those here!
ReplyDeleteI love Friday nights and that pizza looks WONDERFUL! We just got Papa Murphy's here, we need to try it!
ReplyDeleteYour family is so fun!
ReplyDeleteMost of our Friday nights look a lot like that. Have you tried the new Mediterranean deLITE from Papa Murphy's - It has ruined all other pizza for me - it's that good!
ReplyDeleteLove me some Sweet Home Alabama! "What, they run out of soap down at the Piggly Wiggly?"
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a perfect night to me!
ReplyDelete"So, you have a baby in a bar?"
Mmm. Dinner and a movie. I love homemade pizza. Its the best.
ReplyDeleteWe do this, too! I make dough on Friday afternoon and it's ready in time for Dad to put it all together. (He likes to do this...) It's fun to get creative. We tried chicken and pineapple last week. It goes against my food rules, but I tried it and actually liked it!
ReplyDeleteI think it is neat that you have been blogging since '05! Will looks so young. We own Sweet Home Alabama - love it! On of the quotes that Jeremy and I use a lot with the boys is "Don't let all the bought air out!". :o)
ReplyDeleteBB was a big deal at my house growing up. I need to start getting them for my boys to watch. I personally would love to own them - so many great memories.
