For your reading pleasure...

I can't seem to put a coherent post together lately which is why I'm sharing some links with you today.

I had the most amazing salsa at Bunco last week. It was unbelievably delicious and I'm definitely going to have to make a batch very soon.

Also, I'm planning to try this recipe for baked oatmeal this week. I got this link from Leah, and Stephanie sent me the same recipe. For those of you who asked, baked oatmeal is not the same thing as oatmeal cooked in a crockpot. This recipe calls for baking it in muffin tins. Others I've seen use a 9x13 dish.

I loved this post that John wrote. I happen to think he's the most brilliant writer.

I sometimes think it would be cool to live in California. Beaches, mountains, warm temps, green grass in January, and this make it all very tempting.

Have any of you seen this movie? I went to see it yesterday afternoon (all by myself!) and thought it was really, really cute!

Got girls? Then you need to check out this great tutorial for hair clips.

I found this blog a couple of weeks ago, and I love it! She has some great ideas.

I'm trying to get my Lenten ideas into a post. I adapted some of them from a devotion book that Wendy wrote. She'll be sharing devotions each week during lent on her blog, and yesterday she posted some fun craft ideas for kids.

Hope you have a happy Monday!

Just wanted to say hello Mrs. Meredith :o) Hey, for some reason when I type in your address so I can put your blog page on my page as one of my favorites, it says the url cannot be recognized. Do you know why that might be??

That's so funny about the recipe - do you want to know why? :) Leah and I went to college together and were roommates our senior year! Fun coincidence.

Thanks for the hair clip segment! I have a girly girl and I have to admit I love to see her in clips and bows.

I've not seen that movie or any lately. I think my last movie in a theater was Sex & the City and I went b/c it was a free ticket. LOL I want to see Shopaholic so maybe I'll venture out to see it. LOL

I love the Thrifty Chick blog. I found it last week and she has some great ideas.

I'm gonna' make the baked oatmeal thing the next time I have to make breakfast (which doesn't look like for at least a couple of weeks) 'cept since I'm cool and all and want to make my husband look bad, I'm gonna' make the banana/choco chip one (which I know you wouldn't try, but I'll tell you how yummy delicious it was anyway).

Mer,

That is so funny about the movie, because I almost went to see it by myself yesterday! Wish we could've gone together. =)

I love how you "link up" so many great things.

I saw the movie, but honestly wasn't that excited about it...the concept itself was cute, but I questioned the PG-13 rating and with that in mind I had a difficult time with the messages that the movie was sending to our girls...

Did you make your baked oatmeal yet? It was a big thing in Lancaster, PA where we used to live. All of the restaurants and groceries stores sold it.

My recipe was like your and I would split the oatmeal and do half quick oats and half regular, for texture. I put mine in an oblong pan, not muffin cups. And sometimes I sliced apples on the bottom before pouring the batter. Or I cook it and when I dish it I put a few Tablespoons of warm applesauce on each serving.

My family loves this. For the past year I've cut down slightly on the sugar by 1/4 and you hardly notice!
