Happy Fall Ya'll!

Fall officially begins today.

That means that yesterday was the last day of summer.

Evidently that meant nothing to mother nature since it S-N-O-W-E-D at my house. You read that right. SNOW. On the last day of summer.

I love snow. I really do. I just prefer it to snow during the winter and not in the summer, fall, and spring. I want to enjoy a bit more of fall before we see more of the powdery white stuff.

It snowed on and off all day yesterday, but very little of it stuck. Thank goodness. More snow is in the forecast, but by the weekend we'll be back in the 60s/70s. I'm heading to the mountains this weekend and hoping that this crazy weather doesn't affect the fall foliage!

Here are a few pics I took for the amusement of all you Southerners.

See my roses? They've been gorgeous all summer, but those are probably the last blooms I'll enjoy for long while--overnight temps in the 20s/30s will make sure of that.

Happy Fall Ya'll! Who wants to come play in the snow with me? Smile.

Seriously, this Southerner cannot even IMAGINE. I love snow too, but you know, that's b/c I only see it MAYBE once a year. I read your blog and wonder what it's like to live where you are. I'm living my snowy dream life vicariously through you! hahaha

still just so unbelieveable...

I was even thinking about how different our wardrobes are...I own one thin coat, nothing too heavy. Mostly just long sleeved shirts..only a couple of sweaters and sweatshirts! I wear mostly 3/4sleeve length shirts in the fall and in to winter a bit..I get too hot all layered up!! :)

One of these days I must get out there to see your beautiful state or you have to come to the beautiful south to get away from the snow!!

You just cured me of wanting to live in Colorado, sweetheart.

Meredith,
We are in the same boat, may I say the sinking Titanic?
You are right, snow should be in winter.

A COlD shudder just ran up my spine! SNOW! Yikes. I'm still running my air conditioner off and on. Today is supposed to change a bit here in KS...we are expecting a high of 68 which I think is cold enough.

I wondered if you got some of the white stuff. My friend at the Air Force Academy mentioned it on her facebook. I know you will get your fill, but I think it is beautiful. Nothing more peaceful than watching snow fall from the sky - IMO.

Oh. My. Word. I can't believe you had snow on the last day of summer. I can remember several times when we've had snow on the ground at Halloween, but never this early. In fact, it's been really hot and muggy for the last week. I'm so ready for it to cool down and have fall for a while.

Well you difinitely had a better attitude about the snow than I did! I just can't believe we said summer and snow in the same sentence. Like I said on my blog...it's just not right!
It was beautiful tho'!

Unlike many of the other commenters, I can imagine snow in September. It's certainly not normal for Minnesota, but it's not out of the question.

That said, it looks like you could get accumulation tonight. Four to eight inches? Now that's a yikes!

seriously?!! snow?!!!

It is still hot and humid here in AR!!! don't be jealous now, b/c we are ready to build an ark any day now do to record rain.

I am no ready for summer to be over...I will have to face it sooner or later....later would be better!

My car temp gauge creeped up one more degree to 95 today. In Seattle. This is weird, is what this is. Sorry...channeling a little Larry Cable Guy.

I think the south has our rain. Not complaining tho.

Have so much fun planning and going on your scrap retreat.

Crazy. Absolutely crazy. I shared it with my family tonight, and we all agreed not to trade weather with you. But if we get a chance to visit, I'm all over that!
