I'm dying to buy one of these iPod docks, but with upcoming birthdays and camp registration fees and a family that needs clothes and food I can't justify the price tag. I've started a savings fund for one, but until that fund grows a little more, THIS is my iPod dock.
Classy, huh?
I don't even care. I was able to pull the speakers out of the e-waste pile in the basement and put them to good use. Totally works for me! Y'all probably already know all about this little trick. If so, don't tell me. Let me believe that I'm incredibly resourceful. Thanks.

I also just want to thank you guys for leaving me fun comments all the time. I am a terrible commenter on your blogs and it blows me away that you continue to comment here when I don't always return the love.
So thank you.
My google reader currently shows 457 unread posts. I'm determined to read every single one of them even if it takes me until June. Let's hope not. Because then I'd be reading 4570 posts. Sheesh.

How very cool! I didn't know you could do that with old speakers....but then I am a bit electronically challenged! ;)
Have a great weekend!
THAT IS PERFECT!!
So resourceful and I no clue you could do such!
I just want an iPod forget the Dock!
Great idea! This works for us, too. We have two different sets of ancient speakers. One works with my MP3 player and disc-man (how's that for retro?) and one works to boost the sound on our laptop when my husband is listening to hockey games or we are using it to watch movies.
I had no idea. Seriously! This is genius.....
I never would have thought of that - so smart! :)
We have the Altec Lansing IM7 and LOVE it! We also loved the under $100 price we got at Costco at the time - it lists for quite a bit more elsewhere. I just read that this one: http://www.amazon.com/Altec-Lansing-iMV712-Digital-Theater/dp/B000R5NRS0 is even better & it is only $129... Both were compared to the Bose & came out equal to or even better than...

Btw, we also have a little dock attached to small computer speakers in our living room - a lot less noticeable than the boombox... :) They work great!

Hang in there with your reader! When mine gets unmanageable I do some major skimming and then don't feel bad about not commenting. You can't do everything!
Way to be resourceful, girl!!! :)
And for the record, I’m not married obviously but I am loving your Wednesday posts!!
Great idea!
I just want to think like you think for one week. THINK of all I would get accomplished! You don't need your brain for all 52 weeks, Mer. Pretty please. I won't offer you mine in trade, though. :)
Great Idea...only things is- I think I am the only person in the world still without an ipod!!
You know here in the south- it hasn't hit yet!!
It really works! My kids were amazed. Except the oldest- he just said, "I knew that." and went on playing his computer games.
Way to use what you have! Our old pc speakers are hooked up to a large flat screen monitor which will be hooked up to my laptop as soon as my kids are in bed and then I will begin watching my shows on hulu. :)
