I think whoever came up with the idea for this digital bookmark is brilliant! Have you guys seen these? Sarah used a gift card she got for her birthday to buy one this summer. The bookmark tracks the minutes/hours you spend reading.
This bookmark also has the option of setting it to count down. Our third grader is required to read 15 minutes each evening. We can set it to count down and beep once her 15 minutes are up!
Sarah bought her bookmark at Borders and I think it was around $10. I think this would make a great gift for school age kiddos
The company that makes the bookmarks also makes a portable digital metronome. Cool! Sarah is taking piano this year so I'm thinking a metronome might be fun to put in her Christmas stocking!

What a cool gadget! And what an awesome girl. Love that my kids love to read.
My daughter would love to keep track of how many hours she spends reading, the little over-achiever that she is. I want to know how many of those hours are clocked after bedtime!
What a nifty idea - love it!
totally keeping this in mind for a stocking stuffer for a certain middle daughter of mine! Thanks! :0
I love to read! I go through books like crazy. If I had to keep time on how much I read daily I'd be amazed, I am sure. I maximized my daily reading time by buying a book chair at BooksaMillion. They are a cool gadget that looks like a lounge chair but it holds your book so you can read hands free. I read every morning while drying my hair and putting on make up, every night while taking it off again, and sometimes I hide in the bathroom doing nothing but sitting on the edge of the spa tub and reading. Sarah and I are kindred spirits, I feel.
One of my boys sets the timer so he doesn't have to read one second more than what's required.
Sigh.
I think he's adopted.
I have two avid readers and that sounds like a great Christmas present!
My oldest daughter has this bookmark and loves it. I bought it years ago and can't remember where, but have already had to replace the battery once.
i gave one of these to my nephew when he started having to turn in a reading log. very cool. love the sport of extreme reading!
I love this idea - what a great Christmas present this would be for my grandchildren. :) blessings, marlene
