I've been a very nice mom this weekend. Technically, it's still the weekend for me and the kids. John was at home with us but he worked all day today. And yesterday. And Saturday too. C'est la vie, I guess.
Anyhoo...
I've said yes to multiple sleepovers and junk food and movies (Gnomeo and Juliet gets low, low marks from me so don't waste your time or money!) and pretty much anything else the kids have asked to do, including jumping on the trampoline at 8:30AM when the temperature was 30 degrees with a windchill of 25. For the record, I was extremely UNhip on that idea but after listening to them beg/plead/whine for an hour I gave up, sent them outside, and told them I didn't care if they turned into popsicles. I'm tired and I'm ready to have my family of five back together. I love having other kids over, but after a couple of days of extra kiddos, I start getting a wee bit grouchy. I'm sure you couldn't tell.
Despite my grumpiness, I'm enjoying our long weekend. I'm excited that we have tomorrow off as well, but that makes the rest of this week feel VERY short. I have a lot of things to pack into Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday!!! Ciao!

Hope you get some down time after all of that action at your house!
I also heard from another mom that took her son to see Gnomeo and Juliet, that she was very disappointed. She said that it was too sexual for kids. We haven't seen it, and after hearing what I have, I think we'll pass! :)
Thanks for the movie review. I was wondering about it. Good to know. : )
Glad to know about the movie. We won't waste our time then!
What crazy weather we've had! One week 15 below and the next week in the 60's. I'm loving it. I could do without anymore freezing cold days...so could my furnace!
Sorry to hear about Abbey's fingers. Glad they weren't broken. Scary.
thanks for the movie review.
I'm sure your kids appreciated them being able to have friends over...hoping you have a very relaxing week!
Bummer about the movie! Thanks for the warning though. The kids really wanna go see it, but maybe I'll convince them to watch Tangled again instead. THAT was cute.
I get the grumpiness. But be thankful you have kids and they have friends who want to be at your house! That's what Gary and I pray for. We want our house to be "the place to be" when our kids are older. What better way to keep an eye on them while loving their friends? We're trying to think now how to make that happen, and it seems like you've got it figured out.
But I get it. Sometimes I get it after a 2-hour (cringe) playdate. (Eww. I said it.)
Funny how whining wears ya down. Popsicles. LOL.
