Ah...Friday. I'm always glad when Friday rolls around but this week I'm doubly glad. Everyone at the Lifeat7000Feet Casa is tired. T-I-R-E-D, as evidenced by snippy-snappy conversations and mini-meltdowns. I think our weekend is pretty low key (hooray!) and I just issued a mandate for weekend rest for everyone in this family.
We will rest, but first we get to celebrate Will. His birthday was yesterday (#14!) and he's having a small get-together with some friends tonight. They're going to see a movie after school then coming back here for some grilled brats (his choice) and dessert. No sleepover though. I don't have the square footage or the stamina for that. It should be fun and more importantly, he's EXCITED! We had a family celebration last night and I think he felt celebrated. It's hard to tell with fourteen year olds.
Believe it or not, I can't think of anything else much going on around here. Unless you want to know that...
I had to send my van back to the shop (Minnie-the-van got new shocks, struts, and tires last week) because she was feeling all wobbly and misaligned. I *hope* they fixed it this time.
Freshman registration was PAINLESS. I actually had a blast with Will that night.
I haven't hiked in TWO weeks because of our cold, snowy weather. I'm feeling it too.
I have a weird crick in my neck and it hurts! Muscle relaxants to the rescue!
I won this book from my friend, Deidre! So excited to start using it.
Joanne is making HUGE HUGE HUGE progress. Her husband wrote about it here, and Kristen included pictures in her post. So astounding!!! So wonderful!!!
I've got a ton of errands to run so I've got to get off of the computer and get in the shower! Peace out peeps. Happy Friday. Happy Weekend. Happy. Happy. Happy.

Enjoy your relaxing weekend. We could use one, too. I think it is the letdown after the post snow frenzy! Here's hoping you have quiet!

Arghh! I had a crick in my neck all last week...I was miserable! Have a great weekend!
Those pictures of Joanne just made my day!!!! :)
I want to know what I'm doing wrong. My kids think that it is their birthright to have a sleepover for their birthdays!
Hope Will has a great time tonight, and that you all have a very relaxing weekend! :)
Well...I read you on being tired by Friday. WOW 14 years old & going into high school. Enjoy your weekend. I've also been missing in blogland for a while...gotta get back to it. We think our van's starter is out! I'm hoping it's because it's just been SO cold that it doesn't want to start. Well...gotta go snuggle with my 2 year old so he will go take a nap. :)
What a wonderful Joanne update. I read her daughter's post, too. Oh, my!
I received Jesus Calling for Christmas--love it!
Hi Meredith,
Happy Birthday to your son! We are having a family birthday celebration for my daughter tonight. Her 11th birthday is Monday. I LOVE the posts about Joanne and yes..Praise God.
Happy Weekend to you.
I told you how much I love that book...I think you'll love it too! Hooray!
I think I somehow missed how close our oldest are in age--less than a year.
I want to get together one of these days, but barely have gotten my head above water. SOON.
Hope you guys rest your little hearts out this weekend.
Glad to hear Joanne is doing better. And yay about a painless freshman registration. I'm having trouble going to sign my youngest up for kindergarten. :-)
Happy Birthday to your son!
We have a 14th b-day coming up in May and I can't think of it yet:-) Glad your registration was fun, as hard as these new stages are to face, I agree, it can also be so fun to go through them with your kids. I have to say 13 has been a ball for me, really. Hope 14 will be too!
Happy Valentines...always love stopping here
Stopping by some of my favorite blogs and some new. Hope you will stop by...On Monday night I am giving away 4 FOUR copies of Ree Drummond's love story. It is fabulous...so I had to buy enough copies to share with my dear blog friends.
one of the best reads I have read in a long time. Have a happy week....
