We're always conflicted when we decide not to travel to be with our families for Thanksgiving. It's great though when you get to the end of a week like this and realize that you've rested, you've been productive, and you've just enjoyed the company of the ones you love the most.
We've decorated for Christmas.
We've feasted on turkey and pumpkin pie and the best dressing I've made in years.
We've stayed up late and we've slept in.
We've watched Christmas movies.
We've played games.
We've shopped.
We've wrapped gifts.
We've spent time with friends.
We've got our Advent wreath ready to go for tomorrow.
We've figured out what we're wearing for family pictures next week.
And we've laughed…a whole lot.
Thanksgiving break has gone by too quickly. I'm sad, but I know that Christmas break is a mere three weeks away and we'll get to enjoy a week or two like this all over again. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.
December? Bring it. I'm ready!
